WAIPA MEETING. INTERESTING FIELDS. THE PROSPECTS IN REVIEW. The annual meeting of the Waipa Racing Club will be held to-morrow on the club's course, Te Awamutu, and with interesting fields engaged throughout a successful gathering should eventuate. Win and place betting will be in’ operation. Following are the fields engaged with a review of the prospects by “Martian": — 12.0. PIRONGIA HURDLES. ur £100; miles.

Pahu showed out. at Wellington and his two thirds there would suggest that he will hold the majority safe to-morrow. Billy Boy would be better suited by a longer distance as also would Valpeen, who, however, is such a polished jumper that he 'Cannot lightly be ruled out. Chromadyne reads the pick of the field and will no doubt dominate the betting lists. He will be at home over the distance and has recent form to commend his claims to consideration. Pennyplain is a likely sort who has been schooling 'well. Bells of Bow and The Hiker must be respected as also Luminary, who has been racing disappointingly in recent starts. The balance of the. field has little to recommend it, the likeliest susceptible to improvement perhaps being Silver Division and Travelling Agent. The favourites are likely to be: —

CHRiOMADYNE VALPEEN PE-N'NYPLAIN

In a field of this size the draw for positions will no doubt have an important bearing on the issue. Despite his 9.5 Lifeguard Will lake considerable beating. Solo Song and Aduleno are possibilities and Sii'ona, while she will be all the better for a race, should account for more 'than heal her. Day Wind is a doubtful starter and Lady Zinnia will need lo improve lo be in it at- the end. Pbiakuo is not without chances and Marsong, First Lap, Chief Lap and -Mustang are all capable of interesting opposition. Full of Scotch and Waihinerlht have been working well at headquarters. The latter appeals as the belter of the pair, and on the way she shaped on the tracks during the week she Will be dangerous at the weights. It Is a race full of possibilities but the public may place most reliance on the credentials of:— LIFEGUARD ADALENE WAIHINERIIII

WAIPA PLATE. Sweepstakes of £2 each, with £7O added; weignt-I'or-age; 6 fur. st. lb. st. 1D - Tree of

Tree of Heaven has done little racing and in Ills last outing at the Waikato meeting he failed to make any Impression. Worthy King should be Improved by his last two outings while La Femme No-ire, Ford Acre and Jovzell should also be benefited by recent racing. Calcutta will be baying his first outing for a spell and will be all the better for the run. With 8.4 Whirling reads the pick of the handicap and on the way he shaped at Waikato and Ellerslie he should prove difficult to dispose of. He 'lias been working as well as ever at Te Rapa and certainly will not fall on the score of physical fitness. Astarth ran her best race lo dale at the Waikato meeting last month and any improvement on that running would suggest an excellent chance for the Cambridge representative. There may be good support for: WHIRLING ASTARTH FORD ACRE 2.0 TE AWAMUTU CUP. or £ 150 and trophy valued at £2o; u miles and about tooyds. st. tb. st - lb -

The field, though small ,ls in interesting one.. King’s Knave, if right on the day, will take a lot of beating. He will be racing on his home track and will be suited by'the distance King March has winning form on his side, having won at Rosehill last month and though he has been back less than a fortnight he should give a solid account of himself. -Mungoloon. who won this event last seas in, demon* sti'ated in winning the • Wide it.' Cup lasi month, that he is retv.lo Ills best. He will he one of the hardest to dispose of. Prince Colossus and Royal . Artist are nicely placed in the handicap and are strong possibilities. The last-named-, especially,' has been hitting out pleasingly in ills I rials and- is ’capable of belter things than his latest Te Rapa running would suggest. Cay Broncy Is reported to be suffering from soreness lately and may not appeal on •that account. Alloy can never lightly ho omitted from calculations, It should he a fine betting race, willi major support likely to be forthcoming for:— ROYAL ARTIST MUNGATOON KING’S KNAVE 2.40 HACK CUP HANDICAP. . Sweepstakes of £2 each with £9O added, and trophy, valued at £25; 7 fur.

The principal hack event has drawn a disappointing field. Te Rupa holds u strong hand in Valpa) and Respectful and the recent consistency ol’ the former will ensure, h.lfli a fi.rm, following on thCv-tnaC'uiiiesyiTriTjh-e latter showed that he Is coining hack to form by Ills forward showing oil the -second day of the Takapuna meeting at Ellerslie. He is fit and well for ’to-morrow. While she failed- in her last two essays Lagoon ran prominently at the Waikato , meeting and a reproduction of that form should .see her in the firing line at the finish. Tuaheahe and Coronis are a handy pair and Gay Rose will add interest to the issue, which may be summed up in favour of:— RESPECTFUL LAGOON TUAHEAHE

PATERANGI HANDICAP. Of £100; 1 nine.

King’s Archer has done little recently and Delrain’s last public appearance was at the Pakuranga Hunt In August when he scored In the Jellicoe Handicap. L’Allegro is inconsistent but he looks well at present. Prolyxo’s preparation would suggest that she will go well to-morrow, but she -pulled up lame on Thursday. Kairangapai is a possibility as also are Alloy and Psychologist, the latter prevailing narrowly over Valpai in hlgh-weight company on the first day of the Waikato meeting. Limex will be all the better for the race. Musquil is the best of the others. Preference may be shown for:— L’ALLEGRO KARANGAPAI PRQLYXQ 4-0 FLYING HANDICAP. Of £120; 6 fur.

There is not much lo -choose from and the Issue at this .stage would appear to lie between Scotland and King •Ford. Scotland has been racing consistently this season and certainly will 'not fail on the score of condition. King ' Ford has benefited by his racing here and at Ellerslie has been hitting out pleasingly on the ’tracks over the past several weeks. Imamint has done no--1 thing since the Pakuranga. Hunt and may feel the lack of racing. Lucidus and Limex (if reserved) come within the same category. Wait and See, on his home track, is a possibility. The public mav favour the chances of:— I KING FORD I SCOTLAND 4.40 | OHAUPO HACK HANDICAP. or £9O; 7 rur.

I Vnlpai.df started.again, will need to be respected. Loombination has been off the scene for a spell, but lias a I good, record on the course. v Solo Sons, Silver Briar and Prince Acre will ( carry a lot of money and if in .’the j mood on the day will be the hardest |to account for. Sunny Downs would 1 be more at home on a roomy course. .Toyzell and Ford Acre are among | those previously engaged but if this Ibe their mission they must enter calculations. Interest will attach to the showing of Lion Heart, who will he making a re-appearance after his disappointing Australian trip. Since his j return he has been workng well and in the company engaged lie should give a good account of his capabilities. The draw for positions may effect the issue in which attention may be divided between:— ■ ' PRINCE ACRE ! LION HEART ! LOOMBINATION
