CHOICE SPRING BLOOMS. GREAT CREDIT TO DISTRICT. The Walton Ilall presented a gay and animated scene when tMe llrst Spring Flower Sliow to Re held In the district attracted exhibits and patronage from everyone in I lie Walton district and was well supported by hortirulturisis from Morrinsvitle, Waitoa and Putaruru. Held under the auspices of tho Anglican Church, tlie show met with wholehearted support from residents. Tlie benches were rilled with exhibits of fine quality, and the hall was crowded with spectators. Keen competition was a pleasing feature or all sections of the show. The success of tlie show, both tinnnclallv and from a horticultural and Industrial point of view, was a credit to the ladies who organised it and tlie district which supported it so well. The display of daffodils was very fav- | numbly commented on by the judge, Mr C. W. Pierson, or To Arolia, who said that the blooms exceeded ills expectations for quality and quantity. Mr Pierson delivered an interesting address on' daffodil culture. Much or tlie organising work fell to tlie ,'clnt. secretaries, Mesdames C. Shirley and W. E. Franklin, and a very able committee, who had a busy time. Tiie Prize List. Points prizes were won as follows: Most points in show, Mrs A. Mills (Walton) and Mrs 11. Rrown (Morrinsvitle) and Mrs Gandy (Tauranga) tied for llrst place; needlework, Mrs 11. McDonald (Kiwitahi). Special Prizes.—Morrfnsville silver cup for daffodils, Mrs A. Mills; champion daffodil bloom, Mrs Robinson (Putaruru), “k'iiligrew”; trophy for polyanthus, Miss L. Soutbee; novice table, Mrs Rellleld. Champions of Daffodil Classes.— l.eedsii, Mr G. Varrall's “Alary lttuetl”: Trumpets, Mrs Robinson’s “Lord Roberts"; Itarrii, Mrs A. Mills' “I.ad.v Superior”; Incomparabllis, Mrs Robinson’s “Kllligrcw," also champion of show. Archdeacon's Appreciation. In announcing the winners of special prizes, Archdeacon Gillespie, on behalf of tile Morrinsville parish, expressed appreciation id’ the way Hie show had been conducted and supported.
