FRENCH FINANCEG. •. i DEVALUATION REJECTED. . NO ADDITIONAL SACRIFICE. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. CopyrlgliL PARIS, Sept. 15. The French Minister of Finance, M. Germain Martin, announces a balanced Budget for 1934-1935. He estimates receipts at 47,022,000,000 francs and expenditure at 45,984,000,000 francs. Tlie Minister says the Budget has been balanced without imposing new taxes or asking fresh sacrifices of civil servants and ex-soldlcrs. The Government emphatically rejects devaluation, which would compromise the recovery of the financial market and cause higher prices. A preamble to the Budget condemns tariff barriers as leading to the material ruin and the progressive disappearance of civilisation. “We ei'6 persuaded that European nations, also the world generally,’’ says the Minister, “ will soon be convinced that stable currency based on gold constitutes the sole basis for exchanges and will soon return to normality. The fact that France signed 23 trade agreements in the past year is a hope'* ful sign.’’ '
