Puileine-Spenccr and Mrs Dorothy Ashton, was opened yesterday, at the rooms of the New Zealand Women’s Association. ' \ Most of the subjects treated are New Zealand. Critics declare that Mrs Spencer’s work is fresh and happy. Her best results arc achieved in pictures of luxuriantly tangled native New Zealand bush marked by depth and richness of colour. Mrs Ashton’s work comprises pleasing beach scenes. Mr Will Ashton, who opened the exhibition, said the work of each painter was l'rank and honest, full of light and colour.
