ENJOYABLE AFTERNOON. A very enjoyable afternoon was spent at the fourth meeting of the ■British and Foreign Bible Society. It was held at the residence of Mrs J. J. Ryburn, of Ngahinapouri. Miss Henry, the district secretary, presided, and gave a very helpful talk on the work that is being done by the society. The meeting opened with a hymn and prayer. Those present were:—Mrs J. J. Ryburn, Mrs R. Thomas, Mrs Baker, ■Miss Vickers, Mrs E. O’Regan, Mrs X. Reid, Mrs W. Thomas, Mrs Pullman, Mrs Harris (Pukekohe), Mrs W. Reid, Mrs C. Taylor (Tauranga), Mrs Burrows, Mrs Bromwich, Mrs Woodward, Mrs McGregor, 'Mrs Clark, Airs Rye, Mrs Gilliard, Miss Ryburn, Miss McGregor. After partaking of an enjoyable afternoon tea the meeting concluded. Mrs J. .1. Ryburn thanked Miss Henry on behalf of all present. A vole of thanks was tendered to -Mrs J. J. Ryburn. 1 # # * * Bridge Evening. | The Bridge 'Club held its usual I weekly play on Saturday evening. The ! winners were Mrs X. Reid and Mr R. ! Thomas. # * * * Personal. Mrs Harris, of Pukekohe-, is staying with her daughter, Mrs Pullman. Mrs 'O. Taylor, of Tauranga, has been staying with her sister, Mrs R. Thomas. | Miss L. Ryburn lias returned to ■ Wliakatnnc after spending the holidays with her mother, Mrs .1. J. Ryburn. Mrs Clark, of Auckland, is visiting her sister, Mrs J. Clark. Mrs Burrows has returned from Auckland. Miss M. Raley has returned to Pukekohe. Mrs O'Regan lias been visiting Cambridge. Miss D. Tudhnpe has returned from Whangnrei. Miss B. Anderson has returned from Rotorua. Miss I). Allen lias returned to Wha kalani;.
