ACTION BY SELLERS. PREVENTING UNFAIR BUYING. WELLINGTON. Friday. Commenting on an Auckland messnco relative to the action taken by the Booksellers’ Association to prevent schools from buying text hooks direct from London, Mr it. 11. Bennett, a past, president of Hie New Zealand Booksellers’ Association, speaking as a member, said Ilia! in the past certain institutions, including some schools and colleges, have been importing hooks through agents in London, obtaining the full advantage of trade terms, plus the commission paid to exporters. As the publishers considered that, tins was unfair to the legitimate trade (hoy had lived terms which they believe to ho suflicient to protect, the interests of booksellers throughout all the Dominions, not only New Zealand.
