TE AWAMUTU BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Te Awamutu Electric Power Board was held on Friday, when the chairman, Mr J. T. Johnson, presided and there were also present Messrs W. .1. North, J. C. Monlcflore, S. G. Maeky, J. G. Sutherland, N. M. Lethbridge and A. L. Storey. The secretary, Sea fund Settlement Association, advised having completed arrangements for i lie erection of its first milking plant and accepting the board’s offer to lend a benzine engine to meet immediate needs. The chairman, Mr Lethbridge and the secretary were appointed to carry on negotiations with the Waitomo Board. The electrical engineer, New Zealand Railways, Wellington, pointed out that the charges for electric lighting at To Awamutu and llic other stations in the area totalled £ll2 9s Gd for the last 12 months and asked for some reduction, seeing that the Borough Council had received a 2o per cent, decrease. The hoard declined the request. Reduction In Charges. The Te Awamutu town clerk acknowledged with thanks the hoard s intimation of reductions in the charges for street lighting as from July J. The revenue for May was shown to he as follows: —General lighting and healing, ill 138 is 3d: power, £lO 10 17s Gd: penalties and sundries, £l2 15s: streel lighting, £33; making a total Of £2579 17s 2d against May 1933, £•2192 is 7d. Accounts totalling £ i 152 8s 5d were passed for payment. The consumers’ linanee showed a credit of £4G9 12s Gd. There was a total credit in all accounts of £2982 17s lid and over £IO.OOO was due by loan account to power fund account pending raising of loan money. Conversion of Leans.
