WOMEN’S DIVISION.

TOKOROA BRANCH. I _ At the July meeting of the Tokoroa branch of the Women s Division of the Farmers’ Union the president presided. After the usual business was attended to Mrs Peoples gave a interesting address on “Hemorrhage and how to administer first aid.The monthly competition, a pair of men’s hand-knitted socks, was won by Mrs E. Walker, with Mrs 'Kidd second and Mrs Mossop third. The meeting was then adjourned and a public meeting held to discuss the forthcoming Queen carnival. Mr K. S. Cox and a number of Lichfield supporters were present. Mr Cox addressed the meeting and after discussion it was decided that Lichfield and Tokoroa should combine and nominate a queen, arrangements to be left in the hands of a committee from each district.

The following delegates were appointed to represent Tokoroa at the the general /meeting of delegates at Putaruru on July 20: —Messrs. L. McHale, 11. L. Pearson and A. J. Ingle. Afternoon tea brought the afternoon to a close, the hostesses being Mesdarnes Cotton, Flavell, Sloper and E. VAlker.
