PERIA RABBIT BOARD.

PROPOSED RATE. A meeting- of the hoard was held on Wednesday, Mr C. G. Payne presiding. Notice of motion was given to strike a rale of 3d per acre over the whole of the hoard,s area for the year ending March 31, 1035. Several farmers are to be notlfled to destroy rabbits. Messrs. C. G. Payne and F. E. Harris were appointed inspectors for the board. Jlr W. W. Dickie tendered his resignation as a member as he is leaving on a holiday*, trip.—Mr Dickie,s resignation was received with regret, the members testifying to his good work while on the board. Mr 11. McA'aul was appointed to the vacant position. Members reported that much good work had been done in the Walton end of the district. Accident.—Mr Fred Edwards, a young married drover, or Matamata, was driving cattle to the sale on Wednesday when his horse slipped on the asphalt and fell on Mr Edward’s leg, breaking it below the knee.
