The last-minute rush increased the entries for Ihe centenary air race to over 60. They include Mr Oliver Nicholson (New Zealand Centenary Committee), flying a D.II. Dragon; Sir Alan Cobham, flying an Airspeed Courier; Lady Cobham, flying an Airspeed Envoy; Mr James Baines (New Zealand), flying a Faircy Fox. Others include Harold Gatty, Clyde Pangborn, Captain Pond and Lieutenant Sabclli and Miss Ruth Nlcolls.
