MISS JEAN BATTEN.

MORE RECEPTIONS. AEROPLANE OVERHAULED. VISIT TO DOMINION PROBABLE. bulled Press Assn,-.- T7 '''" ’ r 'd- oorn-rigni. ‘Sydney, June l. Twenty women’s organisations united to-day and entertained Miss Jean . Batten. The police again were compelled to control the crowds that assembled wherever she went. The Auckland girl flier was also the guest of a group of . prominent business men’s womenfolk at the Hotel Australia. She found time for a hurried visit to Mascot, where she inspected her aeroplane, which she regards with affection.

The engine has been completely stripped, and Miss Batten has decided to have three new cylinder heads installed.

The last of a long day’s receptions yesterday was held in the Wentworth Hotel, where Miss Batten was the guest of the New Zealand’s Women’s Association. The welcome accorded to her was so earnest and enthusiastic that Miss Batten lasted just long enough to express her thanks and was then overcome with emotion. However, she soon recovered. Miss Batten is deeply grateful for the scores of messages of congratulation received from New Zealand, being- especially pleased with those received from Lord Bledisloe and Mr G. W. Forbes. She expects, when her mother reaches here, to visit New Zealand.
