Artistically designed, handsomely constructed, lavishly appointed and furnished and equipped with the most modern apparatus, the new State Theatre, at the corner of Victoria and London Streets, will open to-morrow evening. The building, in its appealing symmetrical design, is a valued addition to the recreational amenities of Hamilton, and in the splendid craftsmanship it displays it is a tribute to the ability of local workmanship and laboui. , Built to the order of Amalgamated Theatres, Limited, at a total cost of approximately £14,000, the theatre is in keeping with the most recent trends in architecture, and in its intimate style resembles the latest type of picture house in Australasia. The opening ceramony will be performed by the Mayor, Mr J. R. Fow, and the proceedings will be broadcast. The first programme will be headed by "Carolina, ’ starring the popular Janet Gaynor.
