assistance for producers. FUTURE ARRANGEMENTS. (Times’ Parliamentary Correspondent.) v WELLINGTON, Thursday. An early pronouncement of the Government’s policy in respect to the fertiliser subsidy for next year was sought by Mr. C. A. Wilkinson (Independent —Egmont) In a question asked the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. C. E. Macmillan, in the House of Representatives this afternoon. In pointing out that the present arrangement, expired at the end of December. Mr. Wilkinson said it was necessary that earlv intimation be given as arrangements had to be made in advance both In- manufacturer as well as by the farmer and merchants. Mr. Macmillan replied that arrangements had already been made for a meeting with representatives of superphosphate manufacturers next week for the purposes of discussing the question of the subsidy for liie remainder of the 12 months ending .lime 30 The policy decided upon by the Government would lie announced as soon after this meeting as circumstances oermltted.
