MAORI WOMAN’S DEATH.

INQUEST AT PUTARURU. VERDICT OF SUICIDE. PUTARURU, Wednesday. The Inquest into the death at Tapapa, near Putaruru, on Saturday, of a Maori woman, aged 23, Paremare Tariu Tamahi, was concluded before Mr H. K. McDermott, coroner, this morning.

Rang! lKipla, wife of an employee on the farm of C. A. Holdcroft, where deceased died, stated that deceased and Holdcroft, who were living together, would occasionally have a quarrel, and deceased would get into' a very had temper. On Saturday morning at breakfast deceased and Holdcroft had an argument. Deceased became very bad tempered and threw plates and cups at Holdcroft, who, as he usually did, merely laughed. Later in the day deceased* called her and told her that she had taken poison. She went for Holdcroft. On her return the girl was dead The coroner returned a verdict that death was the result of poison, selfadministered.
