WEDDING.
BURGESS—SLATER. The wedding was celebrated at the Holy Trinity Church, Otahuhu, on Saturday, September 30, between Daisy Evelyn Slater, third daughter of Mrs C. A. Macken, Moa Street, Otahuhu, and Robert John Burgess, eldest son of Mrs J. Burgess, eldest son of Mrs J. Burgess, Elliott Street, Papakuru. The Rev. \V. C. Wood, of Papakura, performed the ceremony, and the wedding music was played by Mr T. C. Seaton. Tlie bride, who was given away by Mr C. A. Macken, wore a frock of ivory georgette and Chantilly lace. Her veil.of embroidered tulle was arranged with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a pink and white shower bouquet of tulips, hyacinths and cyclamen. Miss Muriel Slater, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore a frock of eau de nil georgette, with slashed sleeves and godeted skirt. She wore a crinoline picture hat to 'match, and her bouquet was of lemon tulips and Iceland poppies. Also in attendance were Miss Ruth Slater and Miss Pearl Slater, twin sisters of the bride, and Norma Slater, a younger sister. The former pair were in pale pink frocks of serge georgette', with long frilled skirts. Their hats were pale pink, and they carried bouquets of ranunculus, hyacinths and Iceland poppies. Norma Slater wore a lemon georgette frock and hat to match. She carried a bouquet of tulips and Iceland poppies. Mr Norman Widdowson, of Papakura, was best man. After the'ceremony a reception was held in the parish hall. Mrs Macken received her guests wearing a navy blue crepe de chine and lace frock, with hat to tone. She carried a posy of crimson tulips. Mrs Burgess, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a navy silk marocain frock trimmed in mustard shade and she wore a mustard coloured hat. Her posy was of deep yellow ranunculus and Iceland poppies.
