Mr. T. C. List, district governor or Rotary in New Zealand, was a visitor to Hamilton to-day.
Mr. F. Milner, rector of the Waitaki Boys’ High School, who returned to New Zealand yesterday after attending the International Rotary Convention at Boston, visited Hamilton to-day.
Messrs,ll. Valder and A. M. Bisley, of Hamilton, were guests at the Auckland Rotary Club’s luncheon yesterday.
Rev. Father B. Chapman, who has been on a brief visit to 'his parents at Hamilton, left Wellington on Saturday by the Wanganella for Sydney.
Captain A. W. Pearse, representative of the Port of London Authority in Australia and New Zealand, arrived in Auckland by the Monowal yesterday, en route to Sydney.
Colonel A. Orsborn, the newlyappointed chief secretary of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, was welcomed at Auckland last night. Over one thousand people attended.
Mr Gordon S. Reid, of Hamilton, arrived in England on August 16 and will remain there about four months. His chief object is to study architecture —particularly the outstanding improvements that have been made in the last 13 years.
Colonel R. C. Allen, of England, a brother of Sir Stephen Allen, of Morrlnsville, is a passenger for New Zealand by the liner Tamaroa, which is due at Wellington from London on October 11.

Mr J. F. McDonald, who has accepted a position on the Star, the new newspaper at Melbourne, was made a presentation by his colleagues on the New Plymouth staff of the Taranaki Daily News, Mr McDonald will sail for Australia from Auckland on Friday.
At a meeting of the members of the dairy division committee of tin.' Waikato Winter Show Association yesterday, Mr W. E. Clark referred to the death of Mr J. P. Stuart, of the Dairy Division, Department of Agriculture. and a resolution conveying the sincere sympathy of the members was passed.
The appointment of Sir Boyd Merriman, Solicitor-General, as President of the Divorce Court in succession to Lord Merrivale, necessitates a byelection in the Rusholme division of Manchester. Sir Boyd had a large majority over the Labour and Liberal candidates at the last, election, polling 24,817 voles against a combined aggregate of 10,977 received by liis two opponents.
