MORRINSVILLE NOTES.
SALE OF WORK. The Morrinsville Croquet Club’s annual sale of work held'at the Strand Theatre on Friday met with good support, and the club funds will benefit by a fair sum. The members of the club, headed by Mrs T. E. Martin (president) and Mrs R. J. Ramsay (secretary), .spared no efforts to make the function a success. The stalls and those in charge were as follows: —Work stall, Mesdames A. M. Stirling and R. J. Ramsay; produce stall, Mesdames J. Doorty, G. Irvine and L. Faulkner; sweets and flowers, Mesdames A. Meharry and Anderson; afternoon 'tea; Mesdames Green, P. J. Cooper,’K. R. Strand, F. Collins, Gray and helpers. The'winner of a competition for a cake was Mr G. Irvine, of a tea cloth Mrs Joll (Waitoa), and of a runner Miss M. Young. 500 TOURNAMENT. The fortnightly 500 tournament in aid of funds for the St. John Ambulance was held on Saturday evening and was exceptionally well attended. The prize-winners were as follows: Ladies, Mrs Hay 1, Mrs S. C. Parlour 2; men, Mr 11. Goonan i, Mr E. Carroll 2. The consolation prizes xvent to Mrs S. Park and Mr M. Grigsby.
