At the Franco-German meeting at Colombes Stadium, Lovelock, the New Zealander, who made his own race for half a mile, failed by threefifths of a second to break Ladoumegue’s record of 3min 49 2-ssec for 1500 metres, attributing li is nonsuooess to having nobody to extend him in the last stage. The result of the meeting was Germany 83 points, France 60.
