Among the' responses of business leaders to the Sunday Times' question, “ Has the industrial tide really turned?" Manufactures reflect lower manufacturing costs owing to more reasonably valued currency. World values have undoubtedly been strengthened by the advances in wool prices. In the United States wool is still reasonable against pre-war values, measured in terms of gold. The average level of retail prices at September 1 ' was approximately 41 per cent above -the -level of July, 1914, -compared with 39- per cent’ a -month earlier and 41 per cent a year earlier.
