EINSTEIN EXPLAINS.
VICTIM OF MISUNDERSTANDING. CAMOUFLAGED PROPAGANDA. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received Sept. 18, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 17. Professor Einstein in a letter to the newspapers says:— “ Like other intellectuals who feel it their duty to serve the cause of human progress, I have been a viotim through misunderstanding -the true objects of certain organisations,
which really are' only camouflaged propaganda in the service of Russian despotism. "In ignorance of their true purpose, I ’allowed the Workers’ International and anti-war movement to use my name, but I never favoured Communism. My opinion is that any power must be the enemy of mankind which enslaves the individual by terror, whether under a Fascist or Communist flag. AH that is valuable to human sooiety depends upon the opportunity of development accorded tue individual."
