OBITUARY.
MR'TIMOTHY E. KEOGH. NGARUAYVAHIA, Monday. The death occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs J. Verner, Ngaruawahia, of Mr Timohty Edward Keogh, one of the earliest settlers In the Morrinsville district, at- the age of 83 years. Mr Keogh was born In County Clare, Ireland, in 1850, and came to New Zealand In his early twenties, taking up his residence for a few years in the Walifku district, where he married. Nearly 50 years ago he went to live in the Morrinsville district, working on the Lockerbie Bank of New Zealand estate. His genial and unassuming manner won for him the respect of everyone with whom he came in contact. Prior to his reirement from active life he was for a number of years foreman of the Morrinsville Town Board.
His wife, pre-deceased him by 21 years. Up. to the day of his death he retained .all,,his,. faculties, and took a keen interest 1 iri/air t'djfjlcs? 1 "He is survived by six daughters, five sons and 17 grandchildren. The sons are Messi’s P. L. Keogh (Auckland), YV. R. Keogh (Huntly), J. L. Keogh (Ngaruawahia), T. Keogh (Rotorua) and J. Keogh (Gisborne). The daughters are Mesdames S. Nell (YValuku), E. Hirst (Levin), A. Glass (Huntly),.L. R. Greenslade (Hamilton), J. D. Shea (Te Awamutu) and J. Verner (Ngaruawahia).
MAJOR D. E. G. CARDALE. AUCKLAND, Monday. The death occurred on Saturday of Major Digby E. G. Cardale, wellknown throughout New Zealand for his services during the war in the training camps at Trentham and Featherston, and later in Egypt. MR RICHARD HILL. AUCKLAND, Monday. The death occurred yesterday of Mr Richard Hill, father of Mr Gladstone Hill, at the age of 88 years.
MRS N. WILDE. PAEROA, Monday. The death occurred yesterday of Mrs Wilde, wife of Mr Norman Wilde, formerly of Hamilton, at the age of 46 years. MR GEORGE E. RHODES. AUCKLAND, Monday. The death occurred in the Hospital of Mr George Edward Rhodes, at the age of 68 years. _ From 1926 to 1932 Mr Rhodes was chairman and trustee of the Auckland Rugby League, MR ROBERT IRVINE. AUCKLAND, Monday. The death occurred on Saturday, of Mr Robert Irvine, a well-known trades union official in Auckland, at the age of 50 years. MR A. G. OREAGH. FORMER CROWN PROSECUTOR. (Bv Telegraph—r Press Association.) OAMARU, Monday. - I’he death occurred last night cf a prominent citizen, Mr A. G. Crcagh, aged 83 years. . Deceased was born at Dublin iin 1850, and came to the Dominion as a boy. He was admitted as a barrister in 1875 and had practised at Uamaru ever since. He was the founder of the firm of Ilislop and Crcagh, now llislop, Creugh and Main, lie was Crown Prosecutor from 1885 till recently, and was for many years solicitor to the borough and county councils and harbour and hospital boar Is. lie was keenly interested in all kinds of sport. At one time Mr Crcagh owned racehorses, and was a valued patron cf racing, cricket, rowing, football, athletic, cycling, and rifle clubs. As a young man ho was a keen volunteer, lie founded the Wuitaki Mounted Riiles in 1901.
