Bandmaster Adkins, who joined the Army as a band boy, has been made Army Bands Envoy for the world. He will train all bandmasters. He plays every Instrument, and- has a phenomenal musical memory. He conducted the Wembley band of 1000 performers, and was responsible for the semitone reduction in the pitch of army bands. He recently successfully re-arranged the tempo of the National Anthem at the request of His Majesty.
