Gordon Richards rode Colorado Kid and M. Beary was on Nitsichin. Each was determined not to make the running, and they took a minute to cover a quarter of a mile. It was Richards’ fourth successive win for the day, winning the others by a short head, a neck and a short head. He had no place in the fifth race, but won the last by a short head, making 184 wins for the season.
