Bonnar, boy soprano, who possesses a beautiful voice. Mr Bryant’s piano studies will Include the works of •Liszt, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Debussy, Bach’ and Chopin. This artist Impressed the famous masters of music In Europe with his .interpretative ability and local music lovers should enjoy a fine musical treat.
Brilliant Australian Pianist, Miss Eileen Joyce, Australia’s 21-year-old pianist, is Britain’s latest musical discovery. After playing under Sir Henry Wood, Albert Coates and Adrian Boult, including promenade concerts, a gramophone record, which papers widely praise, lias now increased her fame. Miss Joyce in an interview said that her father was an impoverished Western Australian miner, and she could not read or write when, mil years of age, a priest heard her playing in a Boulder City hotel. He was so impressed that he persuaded nuns to take her to their convent. Wilhelm Backhaus later heard and helped Miss Joyce, and she made a concert tour of Australia, which realised £9OO. Then she went to Europe, remaining at Leipzig for four years. She is now one of the most brilliant young pianists in England, with many concert and tiro.aioAgt engagements ahead.
