REVIEW OF CONDITIONS. Under the title 'Of “ The Money Spider,” a booklet recently published by Mr A. N. Field, author >of “ The Truth about the Slump,” claims to answer New Zealand’s present problems. The field of monetary and financial policy in the Dominion is exhaustively reviewed by the author, who suggests an increase of money in active circulation as the solution to these difficulties. Of the method by which such an object is 'to be attained, 'taxation, an internal i'oan, or ■currency expansion, tiie author expresses a preference for the latter to be secured by the State issuance of currency with sole right of note issue vested in the State. The booklet is lucidly written and is worthy of the attention of those interested in monetary problems.
