WAIKATO ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. BUSINESS DEALT WITH. The executive of the Waikato R§« turned Soldiers’ Association met last evening, Mr R. B. Cramvell presiding, v A motion of sympathy with Dr. F. D. Pinfold on the death of his father was passed In silence, the members standing.

At the request of the Bishop of Waikato, the Rt. Rev. C. A. Cherrington, a sub-oommittee was appointed to aat with the Cathedral Chapter in making arrangements for a memorial tablet to be erected in the Memorial Chapel at the Cathedral. It was decided to wire the Hon. J. A. Young, Minister of Internal Affairs asking, for an allocation from the next art union, for the relief of returned soldiers in Hamilton. Men Broken In Health. Headquarters requested details of. men living in the branch’s area who have broken down in health, but who are unable to prove that their disability is due to war service. It was stated that the Information was required ivith a view to forming some scheme for assisting these men. s „ A further request was received from ® headquarters as to the amount ex-"V pended by the branch during the past year solely on Imperial ex-servicemen and their dependents. The purpose of the request was to obtain information in support of an application for a grant from the British Empire Service League. It was decided to forward headquarters details of any known cases where a property had been re-pos-sessed under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act and sold to a civilian at a lower figure than the amount owing to the Crown by the former owner, without first giving the former owner the first chance of continuing with the property at the lower figure.
