HAMILTON RECRUITS COMPETE. • PROGRAMME IN DRILL HALIi. VICKERS GUNNERS THE WINNERS. The second of a series of regimental sports nights was held in the Drill Hall last night, a good muster of Hamilton members of the Waikato Regiment competing. An interesting programme, prepared by the officers and staff officers of the regiment, was staged, and provided plenty of entertainment for a fair gallery of spectators. A feature was the blindfold boxing competition, which caused much amusement. Four teams, Nos. 1 and 2, Vickers Gunners, No. 3, Signallers, and No. 4, Lewis Gunners, participated in the seven events, and -when the points were totalled the Vickers’ Gunners’ second team was found to lead from the Signallers by a small margin. The points scored by the teams were as follows:

During the evening a three-rounds boxing exhibition was given by C. McKnight, South Auckland welter-weight champion, and R. Wilson, the Waikato feather-weight title holder. This proved a popular item. The Waikato Regimental and Hamilton Municipal Band was also in attendance, and entertained with several items.
