OOMRANY DIREOTOR CHARGED. ALLEGED FAILURE TO ACCOUNT. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. In the Supreme Court James Milward Houston, company director, aged 4-4, appeared on eight charges of fraudulently falling to account for money, two charges of theft, and one of forgery. It was alleged that on various dates zielwcen October 5, 1928, and February 11, 1933, the accused omitted to account for sums of money totalling £1755, which he had received on behalf of John Burns and Company, Limited; and that on April 20, 1932, and March 31. 1933, he stole sums of money totalling £127, the property of Hobart-Berkel (N.Z.), Limited. It was further alleged that accused forged a stock sheet purporting to be a correct list of stocks in the possession of Hobart-Berkel (N.Z.), Limited, ■ as at March 31, 1932, and that, knowing it to be false, he caused John ■ Burns and Company, Limited, to act upon it as if it were genuine.

After hearing evidence the case was adjourned until to-day.
