WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.

WAERENGA BRANCH. The Women’s Institute held a very enjoyable afternoon recently in the local hall. Mrs Hunter (president) presided. Several items were rendered by Mrs J. Hunter, Mrs P. Sewell and Mrs Claude Bell. The points series for the best plate of gems was won by Mrs A. Carley ■first and Mrs G. Carter second. A jumbled competition was won by Mrs Taylor. A playette, which was very amusing and much appreciated, was staged by Mrs Freegard and Mrs Gardner. J. Among those present were: Mesdamos C. Bell, G. Boot, A. Carley, S. J. Carter, W. B. Carter, H. Carter, C. Carter, Chambers, A. Cole, AEnsolc, Freegard, E. Gardner, Hunter, F Harris, T. Coitus, J. Mackay, Murray, H. Sherson, W. Sherson, F. Sewell, 11. Souter, Swinhoe, R. Taylor, and the Misses Cole and Roberts. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames J. Hunter, Jeffries and LOfIUS.
