POLLED HEREFORD STUD. , V-A ‘ " V SECOND ANNUAL SALE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Friday. Tha second annual sale of Mr F. E. ’ Humphreys’ Polled Hereford stud was held at his station, Wilencote, to-day. AH the hulls were rising two-year-olds. Fourteen were disposed .of,, avering 50 guineas, compared .with 42 guineas last year. The top price was 90 guineas. Three were bought for New South Wales and two for Victoria. NGARUAWAHIA STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report having held their usual Ngaruawahia sale yesterday, when a good yarding of all classics came forward. Cow and heifer'beef showed no alteration, while dairy stock remained unchanged. Quotations. —Medium fat cows and heifers, £3 Gs to £3 15s;. lighter fat cows,and heifers, £2 5s to £2 11s; tillable cows, 33s to 395; boner cows, lGs to 28s; choice Jersey heifer calves, £2 10s to £2 14s; Ayrshire .bulls, £3 10s to £4,105; good Jersey heifers, close to profit, £5 10s to £6; Jersey and Jersey cross heifers, close to profit, £4 10s to £5 ss; heifers, later calvers, £3 to £3 15s; good sound young cows, early calvers* £4 10s to £5 ss; sound cows, later calvers, £3 to £4. WAIHOU STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:—At Waihou sale on Friday a good yarding of fat cattle sold at prices well up to recent quotations. Yearling heifers showed an easing tendency. There was a small yarding of fat pigs, but competition was very spirited, values for all classes showing an improvement on last sale.. A large entry of ■stores and weanors also met with keen demand, and the whole yarding was sold at prices on a par with previous sales. Quotations Sheep.—Fat wethers to 20s 3d; fat ewes to 15s; fat hoggets, 14s 9d to los 9d. Cattle: Fat steers to £6; medium fat steers, £5 7s to £5 10s; light fat steers, £3 13s to £4 12s 6d; fat heifers, heavy, £4 8s to £4 14s; lighter fat cow's, £2 19s to £3 18s; heavy fat cow r s, £4 3s to £4 15s; medium fat cows, £2 14s to £3 15s; lighter fat cows, £2 to £2 12s 6d; forward conditioned cows, £1 13s to £2; boners, 10s to 325; yearling Jersey heifers, 36s to 37s Gd. Pigs.— medium baconers realised £2 2s; light baconers and heavy porkers, 35s to 395; medium porkers, 29s to 325; light porkers, 25s to 28s; large stores, 19s to 225; smaller stores, lGs to 19s; slips, 12s to 15s Gd; weaners, good 12s to 14s; smaller weaners, 8s to 10s 6d. Dairy cattle: A smaller yarding of dairy cattle came forward, competition for all classes being ;.v slightly firmer than last sale. Choice Jersey heifers close to profit, £7 to £8 ss; other good Jersey heifers, close to profit, £5 to £6 10s; backward and small heifers £3 17s to £4 10s; best dairy cows, close to profit, £4 to £5; other cows, £2 5s to £3 10s. There was an absence of American orders on the market, and in sympathy with reoent southern auctions prices eased slightly'on last sale rates. Prime and first winter bucks sold up to 77d, and prime and first winter does up to 41d, first incoming to 35d, outgoing bucks to 26d, and outgoing does to laid. The following is the range of prices: Runners, 4d to 4Jd, light racks, 8d to BJd; prime racks to Sid; early autumns to lGld; late autumns, 20d to 22d;. autumns, 12d to 12|d; dawny autumns, to lid; first incoming, 3Od to 35d; first early winter, 45d to 48d; prime bucks, 7Gld to 77d; first bucks, 75d to 7Gel; prime does, 40d to 41d; first does, 30d to 34|d; outgoing bucks, 24Jd to 26d: outgoing does, to milky, 8d to BJd; summers, to SJd; spotted winter, to 24d; hareskins, 5Jd to 61d; ■late winters, to 32d; winter weevily, 6d to 7d.
