THE WAIHI ACCIDENT.

CONDITION OF THE MEN. THANKSGIVING TO-MORROW. WAIHI, Friday. It was reported this afternoon that the 10 men admitted to hospital as a result of Wednesday’s accident, when the cage crashed down No. 2 shaft at the Walhl mine, are making satisfactory progress, and that all are expected to recover. At the request of'the management of the Wailtl Gold Mining Company, 1,1(1., the Mayor, Mr W. M. Wallnutt, is convening a public gathering to he held on Sunday afternoon in the hospital ground with a view to making a public expression of thanksgiving for the escape from death of the miners who were injured. Thanksgiving services will also he held in various churches ou Sunday.
