Herbert Francis Perkins, aged 43, a letter carrier, .of Enfield, killed his wife, his daughter aged 12 and his baby with a trenching tool. A small boy is in hospital in a critical condition. Perkins committed suicide by cutting his throat. Neighbours state that the man had been worrying over a departmental inquiry. GANGSTER'S WIDOW SLAIN. SHOT IN HER BEDROOM. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrig-lit. NEW YORK, July 1. Airs Alice Diamond, widow of a gangster who was killed on December 8, 1931, was found murdered in an apartment where she had been living under an assumed name. Siie was shot in the back of the head. Although the walls of the room were riddled with bullets the neighbours declare they heard no shots.
