NEW THEATRE.
PROPOSAL FOR HAMILTON.
WORK TO COMMENCE AT ONC»
LUXURIOUS BUILDING PLANNED.
Arrangements are complete for the erection of. a new theatre, planned on luxurious lines, in Hamilton, and an early start is to be made with the construction work. An intimation to this effect was given yesterday by Mr J. P. Moodabe, of Auckland, general manager of Amalgamated Theatres, Limited.
“We are now In sight of the completion of our Aim theatre circuit," he said. “Plans are completed for other new theatres in Hamilton, Wellington, Palmerston North and Gisborne, and by November all the new constructions should be Anlshed."
He said Mr W. Goodfellow had completed arrangements for the erection of a luxurious new theatre in Hamilton for the company to control, and actual consructlon work would be begun within six weeks. The Wellington project, was for a palatial theatre in the heart of the city- “ Amalgamated Theatres will then be easily the largest Independent Circuit in New Zealand," said Mr Moodabe.
