SOUTH AUCKLAND AREA. SPECIAL FORECAST. (By Govt. Meteorologist.) The special forecast by the Government meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley area Is as follows : General Inference; An anticyclone is now located between Otago and Chatham Island. Pressure is. very high also over Eastern Australia. A depression is apparently located north of the Tasman Sea. ' Forecast: Light to moderate and variable winds, but south-easterlies prevailing and freshening. Weather cloudy to overcast with showers or misty rain at many places. Temperatures becoming cooler. Seas mod- • erate. THE RAINFALL. (Recorded at Ruakura.) Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9 o'clock this morning .OOins. Rainfall for previous 24 hours .05. Total for June 2.B6ins. Rainfall for year to date, 24.44in5.
