BASKETBALL. On Wednesday the Old Girls basketball team journeyel to Ngaruawahia to play a match. The result was a win for the visiting learn. PING PONG EVENING. Mrs Gerald Petley entertained a number of her friends at a ping pong evening on Wednesday. A most enjoyable time was -spent. The drawing room was prettily arranged with bowls of autumn tinted berries. Ping pong players included Mesdames Carpenter, Livingstone, Bussell and .Tones, Misses Ethel and Jean Robertson, Ruth Clarke, J. Ynllclley, and Irene 'Chaplin, Messrs 'Russell. V. Harris, A. Robertson, F, Jones, S. Robertson, K. Harris and J. Chaplin. 500 card players included Mesdames Pickett and Ununcr and Messrs Carpenter and Petley. PERSONAL. Miss Beryl Carpenter lias left on a brief visit to Cambridge. Mrs Moore has returned home from a visit to Walton.
