The county cricket matches were resumed with the following results: — Somerset v. Derby. —Somerset, first innings 87 (Mitchell took live wickets for 46, and Townsend four for 24); second innings 182 (Townsend took live wickets for 98). Derby; first inn.igs Si (Watson took five wickets for 27); second innings, three wickets for 191 (Storer 89). Derby won by seven wickets.

Worcester v. Kent. Worcester, first innings 383 (Walters 226. Freeman took eight wickets for 110) ; second innings 119 (Freeman took five wickets for 48). Kent, first innings 446 (Ashdown 108, Fairservice 110); second innings, one wicket for 58. Kent won by nine wickets. Middlesex v. Gloucester. —Middlesex first innings 376 (Hearne not out 146) ; second innings, eight wickets for 243 declared. Gloucester, first innings 229; second innings 351 (Hammond 178). Middlesex won by 39 runs. Sussex v. Nottinghamshire. —Sussex, first innings 445 (James Langridge 101); second innings, no wickets for 23. Nottinghamshire, first innings 227 (James Langridge took six wickets for 32). Following on they made 239. Sussex won by 10 wickets. Essex v. Yorkshire. —Essex, first innings 64 (Verity took five wickets for 34); second innings 68 (Verity took six wickets for 40). Yorkshire, first innings four wickets for 12S declared; second innings, no wickets for 5. Yorkshire won by ten wickets.

CAMBRIDGE DEFEATED. BY WEST INDIES TEAM. LONDON, May 19. West Indies, in their second innings, lost 0 wickets for 7 runs, thus defeating Cambridge by ten wickets. WEST INDIES v. M.C.C. TOURISTS OUT FOR 309. LONDON, May 20. The West Indian tourists to-day began a match against M.G.G. and scored 309 in their first innings (Headley 129). Bowes took four wickets for 72. M.C.C. had lost two wickets for 33 when slumps were drawn, .
