Churoh Service,

There was a good attendance at the monthly Presbyterian service on Sunday afternoon, when the Rev. Mac Lean (Cambridge), preached, and made special reference to “Mothers’ Day" in his address. Miss Scott presided at the organ.

MORRINSVILLE.

Relief Depot.

The relief depot conducted in Morrinsville last winter under the direction of the Mayor’s relief cofnmiteee is to re-open on Friday. The executive committee appointed by the Mayor to co-operate with him In supervising relief measures ih the Morrinsvllle district, consists of Messrs W. McPherson, W. C. Cargill, A. Needham and Rev. F. Gardner Brown.

Charge of Theft.

At the S.M. Court on Tuesday Godfrey Frederick William Harfleld, a farm labourer,'charged with theft of goods from the residence of Mr Ronald Walton, at Waitoa, and with the theft of an article from Mr A .R. Dinsdale, was remanded to the 24th inst.

ELSTOW— OTWAY.

Euchre and Dance.

A very successful euchre and dance was conducted by the Te Aroha Ladies’ Hockey -Club in .conjunction with the Hall Society. Over 200 persons were present and spent a thoroughly enjoyable '.evening. Mrs Glover’s orchestra was engaged and extras were played by Miss P. Blackford and Mr G. Day.

A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr W. Glover and Miss P. Aplin, and mystery dances by Mrs Suisted and Mr R. Robinson.

Euchre prizes were won by Mrs Mulgrew, with 13} games, and Mr H. Manning, with 13 games. Booby prizes went to Mrs Daines and Mr Farry. Mr J. Marteili was M.C. Football. The Elstow Rugby juniors played the Tui Maori team on Saturday and defeated them by 9 'points to 0. Dairying. The cream lorries are only running three and four times weekly, on account of the fall in supplies. TAUPO. Weather. The weather, though clear and fine, lhas been very windy. The wind is quite warm though the mountains •are clothed in snow, which is usually a sign of further snow falls. Fishing. Fishing has been particularly quiet during the week, due to the winds. Quite a number of' Hawke’s Bay and J Auckland visitors are here, to enjoy the sport of fishing and shooting. j Town Board. There was no election for the Town Board this year on account of the three nominated members being elected. Air Sheehan having retired in favour of Mr W.
