YOUTH ESCAPES INJURY.
SENSATION AT FRANKTON,
There was a sensation at Frahkton Junction early last evening when a shot pierced a window of Mr P. L. Bateman’s house in Patterson Street, off Killarney Road. Mr Bateman’s house is 200 yards away from his nearest neighbour.. The side of the house on which the. window was punctured faces farm land which stretches back te- peat.
Youth Only Ocoupant of Room.
Mr Bateman’s 16-year-old son, Jeff, was the only member of the fami'y home and he was sitting in the room which, the shot entered —the only room in the house lighted at the time. The bullet made a neat hole in .the centre of the window, penetrating the blind and curtain, and was found embedded in the wall on the opposite side of the rcom. It was of about .22 calibre. -
