MR W. O. MaoLAURIN,

FORMER RESIDENT OF WAIKATO.

(Bv Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Tuesday

The death has occurred of Mr William Gilbert MacLaurln. aged 70 years, a highly-respected settler and a member of the Cook County Council. Deceased was born in the Shetland Islands, and came to New Zealand at the age of 12. He learned farming In Ilie Waikato, and then took up a peril ion of the old Whataupokl block, Gisborne. He is survived by Mrs MacLaurln und two sons and two daughters. CAPTAIN Q. LINDSAY. INVERCARGILL, Tuesday. The death is announced of Captain George. Lindsay, aged 66 years. Deceased was for 15 years harbourmaster at Bluff and was formerly deputy-harbourmaster at Timaru. lie had previously commanded several of the Union Steam Ship Company steamers.
