The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated May 13, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: Tallow. —Auction will be held on May 17. Market continues quiet on spot and for shipment with no material change in values. Hemp.—Manila: Market active and firmer. “K” grade for May-July shipment sold at £ls and for JuneAugust shipment £ls ss. Sisal: Market firmer and good business has been done. No. 1 for June-August, shipment sold up to £l6 ss, and for August-October shipment up to £l6 10s. New Zealand: Market unchanged owing to absence of demand. No first hand sales reported.

Fruit*-Rangitlki and Coptic clear. Port Pirie at London and Piako at Manchester. Bulk sold. Cambridge discharging fruit in good condition.
