G Grade players wishing to enter for the match play competition commencing May 25, are requested to notify the secretary before 20th Inst. SOUTH CANTERBURY CHAMPION TIMARU, Saturday. Miss Jean Ilorwell retained the South Canterbury women’s golf championship, decisively defeating Miss F. Pringle 3 up and one lo play in the final match on Ilighfleld links this morning. The youthful title holder had to fight hard over the first nine holes, 'being two down until the seventh where she reduced her opponent’s lead lo one, and was slill behind at the turn. On Ihe return journey Miss Ilorwell squared the match at the 10th hut lost the next. Once on the Hat Miss Pringle, who over the first nine holes had played sound golf, went to pieces, allowing Miss ilorwell to win by a comfortable margin.
