WELLINGTON, Monday

Sir James Parr, interviewed on his return from Australia to-day, stated that the economic position is improving there, and unemployed were being absorbed Into Industry in all States. Sir James said one did not hear Australians talking very much about the economio blizzard, and a spirit of gloom did not characterise the general attitude of the people. Australia in its heart was fearful of a drought, which if it came, would throw the whole country back.
