MOTHERS’ SUNDAY.

OBSERVED IN HAMILTON. SPECIAL SERVICES HELD, White flowers, the emblem of Mothers’ Day, were much in evidence in Hamilton Churches yesterday, when this day was observed. Special services were held in many of the churches of Hamilton. At First Church, Frajikton, the biannual golden offering for debt reduction was held in conjunction with the Mothers’ Day services, and £4l 10s was given. During these services Misses M. Cameron and B. Murray sang ithe duet “ Harbour Bell,” and Misses A, Muir and J. Cameron, “ Abide in Rest." At 'the conclusion of the evening service parents and friends were entertained at supper by the Bible Class girls. Special services were also held in the Salvation Army Citadel, which was appropriately decorated. Adjutant Marshall's address in the morning was directed to parents as builders of character. At the evening service AHeen and Dennis Ferry sang a duet,

“Memories of Mother,” ,_and Miss Hilda Elmore and Mr Gilbert Robertson paid a tribute to mothers. Mrs Major Sansom was the speaker. During both services flowers and cards were presented to eacii member of Hie congregation, to be given to the mothers, to commemorate the occasion. A welcome was extended lo Brother and Sister Yeoman, of Opotiki.

At tlio morning service at St. Paul's Methodist Church the Itcv. It. Peat look as the subject of his sermon, “A Tribute to Motherhood.” Appropriate hymns were sung.
