BRITISH BUDGET.

THE TAXATION ISSUES.

TRENCHANT ORITICISM.

CHANCES THROWN AWAY. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received April 28, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 27. In the House of Commons Mr L. C. M. S. Amery (Conservative —Sparbrook, Birmingham) in the course of ■the Budget debate, while welcoming the reduction of taxation on new 'capital Issues, said he wished the whole system could be re-cast, giving preference to Investments within the country. He believe the sugar taxation system could be made to yield an additional £12,000‘,000 without hardship to the consumer, at the same lime abolishing subsidies. We had deliberately thrown away a chance of raising substantial revenue by taxation on foreign meat and were now negotiating a treaty which would probably preclude us from doing so for years to come.
