PERSISTENT BURGLAR.
TWICE DETAINED BY WOMAN. STRUGGLE IN WELLINGTON. (By Telegraph.—rrcss Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. A case in which a woman captured and overpowered the same burglar on two occasions was related in the Magistrate's Court to-day, when William Frederick Garner (43), was charged with breaking and entering.
Mrs M. K. Hyde, who appeared as a witness, said accused had twice tried to break into her mother’s house, the first time about twelve months age, and on both occasions a struggle took place, but she was able to overpower him and detain him until ■ the arrival of Hie police. Accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
