AN OFFER RESENTED.
THE MEN REMAIN IDLE,
(Special to Times.) HUNTLY, Thursday. The following telegram was forwarded by Mr W. Davison,_ secretary of the Northern Miners’ Union, to Air T. Or Bishop, secretary of the Coalmine Owners’ Association, Auckland. “ Glen Alton and Taupiri Collieries have separately approached their men and offered to sign the present agreement for 12 months if the men resume work. ■ My executive and men take strong exception to this. We only insist that the agreement be carried out for all. members of the Union. No correspondence will be considered unless it is between the Coalmine Owners’ secretary and the Union secretary. Men still to remain idle.”
