SPORADIC FIGHTING. CHINESE ALARM SUBSIDES. _ THE RAILWAY DISPUTE. United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyright. SHANGHAI, April 26. Sporadic fighting ‘ continues in North China along the Luan River. Peking reports indicate that the Japanese are starting a gradual withdrawal to positions along the Great Wall, having"accomplished their purpose. Conditions at Chinwangtao and Peitaiho are calm fhllowing upon the .Japanese occupation. Alarm in the Peking and Tientsin areas is subsiding as there are no indications -that the Japanese intend to invest those areas. The dispute between Manchukuo and Russia about the seizure of Chinese Eastern Railway rolling stock and its ownership continues hut is confined largely to an exchange of Notes. Harbin reports that there is a large concentration of Soviet troops along the border awaiting any sudden development.
