LIFE MEMBER ELECTED.

There was an attendance of about 30 members at the 13th. annual meeting of the Hamilton Orphans’ Club in Toorak Hall last night, the president, Bro. J. Parlane, presiding. A number of apologies for absence were received.

In reviewing the past year the chairman said that conditions had been , difficult in the period under review, and prospects for the coming session f were not the brightest, hut it was no uSe becoming downhearted. He was confident that the members would enjoy many more successful meetings. He expressed the thanks of the club to the orchestra and the conductor, Bro. 11. Piper. < The club’s session for the past year consisted of the usual 12 meeting nights, two of which were devoted to the entertainment of lady visitors, stated the annual report. Visits were also received from the Onehuiiga and Tamaki Clubs. The club’s orchestra, under the leadership of Conductor Bro. 11. The programmes of musical and other items presented during last session were of the usual high standard.
