Tuesday 70.0 40.0 Wednesday 77.0 53.0 The barometer reads 29.95 with a rising tendency. Indications are for continued unsettled weather to-day, fair at intervals, warmer temperatures, wit'll winds following from a north-wester-ly direction, and occasional showers. The rainfall for the 24 hours amounts to 0.21 ins. Mean temperature 65 degrees.SOUTH AUCKLAND AREA. SPECIAL FORECAST. (3y Govt. Meterolegist.) The special forecast by the Government meteorologist covering the WaikatoThames Valley area Is a follows : Forecast: Moderate to strong,'but decreasing southwesterly to southerly winds. Weather cold with some scattered showers but mainly fair and improving. Seas rough offshore. General Inference: The anti-cyclone from Australia is now Irmiving on to the Tasman Sea, and the barometers are rising over New Zealand. At present, however, the pressure gradient is still favourable for strong southerly ‘winds. THE RAINFALL. (Recorded at Ruakura.) Rainfall for 24 hours ended 9.30 this morning, ‘Oins. Rainfall for previous 24 hours .19ins. Total for April 3.54in5. Rainfall for year to date, 15.05in5. •
