DANCES.

AT MATANGI. A very enjoyable dan’ce was held in 'the Matangi Hall on Saturday evening. The hall was filled to its capacity with a jolly crowd ‘Of dancers. Excellent music was supplied by Mr Battersby and Mr Milne. The supper arrangements were in the hands of the ladies’ committee, Mesdames H. Taylor, T. Shaw, W. Tomlinson, Richardson, Trownson, and members of the School Committee. During the evening Mr Trownson thanked Mr Retter for the use of his paddock in which the gymkhana was held, and also for assisting in making the dance a success.

BARN DANCE. A very enjoyable dance was held at Mr H. Taylor’s residence to celebrate Hie' opening of their new barn. Music was supplied by Mr R. Cranston and Mr W. Fell.
